Reunion Bits & Pieces
AppleScript and FileMaker are essential tools in my genealogy work. A number of people on the ReunionTalk mailing list have expressed an interest, so here’s some (free) downloads…
- Census Links.zip 1.1
- A FileMaker database for linking census records to Reunion people. The Read Me explains how it works, so you could apply the same principle to a spreadsheet. Includes a FileMaker script which uses GUI Scripting to jump to a particular ID in Reunion.
Original thread: Searchable Detail Field in Sources. - GED to FM.zip
- A rough-n-ready AppleScript to get GEDCOM data into a FileMaker database. It’s set up for IGI and Reunion GEDCOMs and may or may not work with others. It’s also only set up to transfer the fields I’ve been interested in at various times (so all the essentials, but not the whole GEDCOM spec). I only use the FileMaker database as a go-between before transfer into another database, so it looks pretty rough too. Having said all that, I’ve had positive feedback. But you probably want to know a bit of AppleScript and FileMaker before trying this one.
Original thread: exporting Reunion to a relational database. - Reunion Sources to FileMaker.zip 2.0
- An AppleScript application and simple FileMaker database. The AppleScript will populate the FileMaker database with Reunion 9’s Source Usage Report. Read Me included.
Original thread: Source Usage Report to FP7. - Reunion Sources to Text File.zip 2.0
- An AppleScript application to convert Reunion 9’s Source Usage Report to a tab delimited file. Read Me included.
Original thread: Source Usage Report to FP7.
Thanks to all the people who have sent feedback! It does take time to maintain these, so always good to know it’s useful.
